The venue for IGDSS2016 will be the Hard Days Night Hotel in Liverpool, UK. This hotel is in a historical Liverpool building, and is themed on a more recent part of Liverpool’s history, the Beatles.

Details of the hotel itself can be found on its web site. We will have the whole of the lower floor to use for our symposium, including the main lecture theatre and a room for the display of posters, where we will also have our lunches and coffee breaks. There will also be quieter rooms for any discussions that you may wish to have.

The hotel offers help arranging guided tours of the city, not only to investigate the history of the Beatles, but you will be offered other opportunities, such as visits to Anfield Stadium, the home of Liverpool FC. And the city has a lot to offer if you wish to explore independently. Turn one way out of the hotel and you will come to some fabulous Liverpool architecture; buildings which house museums, art galleries and a recently refurbished library. Turn in the other direction and within a hundred metres you will be in the Liverpool One district, a newly developed shopping area built near the River Mersey and with a lot of top name shops to explore.

Access to the centre of Liverpool is simple with direct trains from both Liverpool and Manchester Airports to Lime Street Station in the centre of the city. From there it is a five minute taxi ride or a ten minute walk to the symposium hotel. For more detailed travel instructions click here to download some helpful instructions.
