EW-GDS Meeting

Kingston, UK. September 2012

kingston-university

This meeting was held purely as a meeting of the European Working Group for Glow Discharge Spectroscopy. It was not run in conjunction with any other meeting, nor was it actively targeted at a global market. But the attendance was still as high as sixty delegates and a small number attended from China and the USA.

Kingston University provided all the facilities necessary; lecture hall, a spacious display area for posters and open discussion, all the catering and support. The student accomodation on campus was also available at a reasonable cost making this a very intimate meeting with plenty of opportunity for “off-line” discussion between delegates.

The topics presented covered a large range and were from the viewpoints not only of Acedemia, but also the instrument manufacturers and the industrial end-users. The meeting booklet is attached and can be opened by clicking on this link: Meeting_Booklet

The Payling Prize for achievement in Glow Discharge Spectroscopy was awarded at the end of this meeting to Chiara Modanese of NTU, Norway, for her work on GDMS Analysis of PV Silicon Materials.
